Hello — I’m Megan

I can help grow your business through clever marketing strategies that actually work.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER

I have over 15 years of experience both in-house and in-agency in London.

During that time, I’ve worked in a wide range of industries, from charity, to finance, to videogames. In more recent years, I’ve specialised in marketing within the food & drink industry, with clients including The Ginger Pig, Comté Cheese, Sage by Heston Blumenthal, Kerry Foods (b2b brands), Hofmeister Beer and HelloFresh. Due to my extensive work and personal interest in cheese, I achieved a Level 1 Associate certification from the Academy of Cheese.

I also have lots of experience helping both b2b and b2c in-house sales and marketing teams with advocacy and training programmes to utilise social media more effectively, including Everest Home Improvements, Royal Mail Marketreach and RSSB.

I like to be vocal about the industry. As the former Head of PR & Social and Board Member at MBA agency (recently merged with The Gate), I regularly spoke on panels and wrote articles for industry publications on behalf of the agency. One year I was named ‘Star Player’ in Campaign Magazine’s School Report (“Social, smart, curious, expert, prolific and hugely positive, nurturing force for everyone at MBA”). Example links below.

CREATIVE BRIEF > OUR OPINION

I also visit my former University roughly once a year to do talks about Marketing & PR and conduct mock interviews for current students.

A large focus of my career has been in PR and in particular, working with social media influencers. I ran my own successful food blog (‘Got to be Gourmet’) from 2015 to 2020 alongside my full-time job, with the aim of understanding how the world of blogging worked. This insight into the early days of content creation has helped me to understand what really performs on social media.

While I’m not a professional photographer, it’s a passion of mine that I do often use for many of my smaller clients without big budgets for shoots.

You can see some examples of my photography here.

PERSONAL LIFE

I was born in North Yorkshire, living in a lovely, quaint little village near York before moving to the sunshine island of Cyprus as a teenager with my parents when they took early retirement. Lazy Sunday lunches either up in the mountains or down by the sea, filled with an abundance of mouthwatering mezze dishes, sparked my love of good food.

University was soon calling and not wanting to break completely from the warmth and beaches, I returned to the UK as far South as I could for my degree, studying English and French at the University of Exeter. After a wonderful three years in Devon, I headed to the ‘Big Smoke’ to kick-start my career. Initially in TV production, before moving into PR.

After nearly 15 years of London life and having a family, my husband and I made the decision to move to Surrey in the summer of 2023 and at the start of 2024, I decided to ‘go it on my own’ for work. The aim was to have more flexibility and to be able to spend more time with our two young boys, while doing the kind of work that I love.

I’m thrilled to have already been able to take on a number of new clients both locally and in London, who I am loving working with.
